Our 1st Public Library Visit

Hello & Happy 2017!

Today we took a trip to the library!

This has been a planned trip to take for a couple weeks, but I was feeling like being a lazy mama and opted to stay in when I planned to go.

We started out by breezing and walking through the aisles, I took Landon over to the children's section to let him check out the area. After walking through and touching and looking at a few books he picked out two.

We then proceeded to inquire how to get him an official library card which was a smooth process since he was already in the system from receiving his monthly free books the city had started last year for children ages birth to 5 yrs old.

So once I received his library card I got his two books checked out and we headed back to our private room.

I think this may be our new favorite place to visit! But of course I just have to get him to understand he can't be to noisy....

The only other problem is I hope I don't forgot to check the books back in; deep sigh! Because of course I haven't checked out books in years....and I literally mean years!

  3. He's such a big boy! I have been hesitant about taking my little guy (he's 6) to the library. I am afraid that he will be too noisy. But after reading your post, I think I am going to add it to our to do list before the summer is over. Thanks for sharing your journey. I am always encouraged after reading stories of other autism moms.

    1. Hi There!! Thanks for stopping by and glad to hear me sharing encouraged you. That's exactly what I want my readers to get from this blog...awareness and encouragement.

It was definitely an experience, but I'm glad we tried it. Funny is I was originally there for a meeting, but since he loves books, I guess his curiosity came naturally and he wanted to explore. Sad to say, we haven't been back since; well stopped by to return the book.

Are you guys local? If so, I'd love to schedule a play date. That may be helpful. Would give them both a buddy to explore and read with.

    2. I am planning a library trip for next week so we will see how it goes. Unfortunately, we are not local (we're in TN). It would have been nice to connect face to face.
