Today was Landon's dental appointment. This is actually his 3rd time going. He does pretty well, of course he sits on my lap to get serviced. Today I was anxious to inform the dentist that he is still grinding his teeth and find out what could we do. As we were seated in the seat, I started to mention it to her and he started right at that time.

Landon says CHEZZZ! |
She mentioned, "oh I hear him, but he's still to young to get a mouth guard". Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but I guess I had to accept it. She also mentioned the grinding provides him with a sense of sensational comfort. I also brought to his doctor's attention too, he mentioned it's a few things that gets from it, such as, behavioral sensory and a calming effect. #shrugshoulders
I just know it's mighty annoying once he gets to going. Often I try calling his name to distract him, it works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. I'd like to hope this is something that he will eventually grow out of. And most importantly I hope it doesn't harm his teeth to badly.
Back to the visit--he sat as she begin brushing his teeth. Of course it wouldn't be true if I said he sat still the entire time, he eventually starting to tussle with me as she was coming to an end. As for now everything else, from what she was able to see looks good, no cavities or other issues and all teeth are accounted for.
Now that's what I call a great dental visit!!
Awww! You’re such a cool mother, Lavita. I'm glad to hear that Landon's dental visit was a success, and that there weren't any cavities found in her teeth. It's a nice feeling whenever your worries are replaced with joy, right? Anyway, you should maintain that no cavity streak and continue to encourage your little boy to take good care of his teeth. Thanks for sharing that! All the best to you and your family!

Hello Brian, thanks for reading and the kind words. Some days are harder than others trying to get him to brush, but always pushing him to keep his teeth up, even if that means making a game or fun with brushing.
DeleteMany blessing to you & your family as well.

Congrats on not having cavities! And it seems like it ended well, at least before he got too uncomfortable with it. That being said, how are things doing with the teeth grinding? Is he still doing it? I hope you get to address that more on your next visit to the dentist. Anyway, thank you for sharing this with us, Lavita. Have a great day!

Teeth grinding is a phase that a lot of kids go through. But I’m sure he’ll get over it as time goes by. Though you might want to see if it causes problems for his teeth. Anyway, it’s nice to know that Landon was calm during his dental visits. Some kids tend to be nervous during the procedure, belligerent even. Anyway, thanks for sharing this, Lavita!
