The New Gumps Are In

Well here they are....the new GUMPS are in and are in full motion now!!
My Lil Gump...with his "I GOT THIS" walk...
We went in for an appointment back in March, to see if we could have the strap fixed on the the current AFO's and coincidentally he ended up being evaluated for some new ones (Noddle AFO).
 3/16/15
These were recommended to assist with less foot drop, provide more durable flexibility for strengthening and to ffacilitate heel to toe weight transfer with weight bearing.

Of course I'm always for any and all equipment to assist with his progression but in all truth I'm thinking, "really right when its about to get HOTT; in my best Landon voice--just being honest. However the thought was quickly replaced with well at least this should be easier to find shoes considering the bottom was flat and not "heeled" as my niece Laeh says.

4/9/15
After the consideration was final they did the measurement and casting. He actually seemed to enjoy this part, maybe since he's probably used to it by now. But he sat still and was just checking out the cast being build around his leg, which of course makes things easier for all of us.

After the casting was finished we were able to get the strap fixed on the current AFO's.

Pick up day had arrived and he seemed to be lest interested in putting them on, and was quite angry that he had to leave with them on.

Luckily he was able to get a good ole' break in on the full first day. He went out with Dad & Big Sis DaMari and was WALLKINNGGG!!! They even made a stop at the book store which of course I was told he lost his mind in there trying to pick up so many books for them to read him. Check him out..

Seems the new GUMPS made an excellent day great!
ummmmm...which book should I get??

Our Easter Monday White House Visit

Let's see where do I start....???

Well how about I'll start out by saying I have been registering to get tickets to the White House Easter Egg Roll (and Christmas Lighting) since I've become a mother, and I've never been lucky enough to win. This year however I was lucky enough to receive some tickets from a family member who wasn't able to go--so in my mind I/We was WINNING!!!!

This was taken while we were siting on the
 grass waiting in line.

I planned on making it a nice mommy & kids outing, whelp until Anesia decided to ditch us, as she always does. Thus it ended up being just me, Landon, Raziah (my God-daughter) and my mom. We were all super excited, of course with the exception of Landon considering...but I was holding down his excitement.

The day started out a bit late; I guess its safe to say as usual--but this was totally my moms fault (yup she's the blame). Since we ended arriving late we missed meeting up with our family which caused us to missed our time to get in, because our tickets was with them. We had to end up waiting for the next group to go in, which in all was about 1.5-2 hours almost. And of course this would only effect Landon's behavior and it did just that. He started whining, maybe from sitting in the stroller, I don't know, but it seemed like the closer we got the more irritable he became.
This was the best group picture
we were able to get...and check him out...
Eventually he ended up falling asleep right before we where set to enter the actual grounds. But once we went through he woke up and all ____ broke lose. He starting screaming & kicking and was just in a total uproar, after becoming a tad bit aggregated I just found us a tree to seat under, parked the stroller and took him out. And of course I didn't have any snacks in the bag since no food was permitted. I'm not sure if it was too many people, him still tired, hungry or what the case was. However it appeared once he was out and had stopped crying he had more fun pulling the grass out the ground which I told him he was going to get in some serious trouble for doing that by
President Obama and First Lady Michele!
This was our "Cop A Squat" moment!
Needless to say the experience was memorable, although we didn't get to see The Obama's, him having a complete meltdown it was a beautiful day filled with lots of people & plenty of kids dressed in their best Easter Monday outfits surrounding the grounds. I was so glad my mom went with me because Raziah would have been very disappointed with me because I wasn't able to take her around to do nothing--but she had fun with my mom taking her around to the different obstacle courses, they even did yoga out there.

In ending by the time we decided to head out he became calm and wanted to walk and run around, so I let him do just that.

Happy Easter

Wishing All of OUR Viewers A

True Story...

So Anesia put her ear buds in his ears yesterday for him to listen to the music {as he has become frequent to following her around the house to listen to the music} and today this was him doing it himself!!

I ABSOLUTELY ADORED capturing this moment!!!

I call this his "please don't stop the music" moment; only if it were playing.
BUT I'm sure he was jamming to his own melody.

More WORDS Are Here

Bus! Duck! Book! Me! Pete! Truck! Hot!

These are words that Landon has been using quite frequently and has been using them correctly!!

He yells BUS when he sees the school buses at school; DUCK when he is watching tv, reading or sees a bird (he was close); BOOK when he prompts you to read to him; ME when he is reading Brown Bear Brown Bear;  PETE when he is watching his favorite show; TRUCK when he sees it on a book and of course everything can be HOT!

I'm certain the question is who is Pete by now? Well Pete is from his favorite cartoon show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I take that was easier to pronounce then Mickey.

Here's a video of him having speech therapy and reading his favorite book
 "Brown Bear Brown Bear".

Here's another one from Occupational Therapy. Check out his coordination is improving.
